Tension Controllers

Re spa have designed and produced Electronic systems for the tension control of paper, plastic and laminates. In this time, over 3000 systems have been sold, proving the reliability of the products. Technical advancements made are incorparoted in their latest Microprocessor Control Systems. From 1992, over 3000 systems have been installed, solving numerous tension problems in conjunction with Load Cells, Dancing Rolls, or Sonar. US2 Controller contains an ultrasonic transducer which measures the roll diameter. By knowing the roll diameter, the tension controller knows how much mass is in the roll, and how much torque is required overcome its momentum. This give the control loop better control as it adapts to the roll getting smaller. This controller can be used in an open loop mode, where the roll diameter output can directly drive the brake. As the radius of the roll gets smaller, the signal to the brake increases, so the tension remains theoretically constant.
Two alarm thresholds, which can be programmed, make it possible to keep spool unwinding under control.
This is a very cost effective way to get tension control, but does not respond to other influences of tension.

The range of cells produced by Re spa satisfy all demanding applications and can be used for measuring the tension value of all materials including paper, cardboard, plastic film, foil, rubber and wire. Designs are available for the measurement of force in tension or compression as for example as required for weighing systems. Re spa cells are 100 percent tested and certified to guarantee performance. Each load cell is stamped with the test results to ensure it meets with the technical specification of our customer. All load cells are available with 3 output signals to interface with measurement and control equipment.
